Obituary

Sophia McClendon

Sophia McClendon lived life on her own terms. Sophia made a great impact on everyone’s life around her. She was a kind, compassionate person who could brighten any room with her bright, beautiful, infectious smile.

Sophia was born on March 17th, 1972 in Los Angeles California. She was the first child of Pete Lopez Perez and Violet Perez. They lived in Corona California.

Sophia attended Don Lugo HS and graduated in 1990. After graduating she pursued her career as well playing the role of mother and soon to be wife.

In 1994 she met Richard Bultsma and they were married soon after. Eventually they had 2 children, Allen and Ashley.

Sophia found love a second time when she met Ian McClendon. They fell in love soon after meeting and were engaged in 2016. They married in 2018.

Sophia was very passionate about her music, sports and friendships. If you were fortunate enough to be in her inner circle you had a loyal friend for life.

There are so many good memories. The one that sticks out is the time when we were just kids. Sophia was always just a little bit bigger than I was. She had many ways of torture for her little brother. She would take my lunch money and then push me on the ground. She would make me do her dirty work just so I could hang out with her and her friends. She would get me drunk just so she and her friends could make fun of me. I may not have appreciated the abuse then. But I would give anything to be that kid again, getting abused by his big sister. And I would not change a thing.

Sophia really was a remarkable person. She was loyal, passionate, smart and lived her life with a high level of integrity. Above all Sophia believed in being true to yourself, speaking your mind and loving each other.

Sophia, thank you for being part of our lives and our family. We are all going to miss you very much. You will be in our hearts always and forever.

                Your Loving Brother, Pete
